1.50.93 personal best in the E46M at glorious Sonoma Raceway. (Down from a 1.52.0 on V730's)
Had fresh RE71RS sitting in storage waiting for a Sonoma event. Last Sonoma was heavy ass rain the entire event. Really wanted to sub-50. Did not happen today but I am more than happy dropping my PB by just over a second. About expected with the v730 vs RE71 difference. Is roughly a second. Car can definitely sub-50, just a matter of refining a tad more. This was my 9th Sonoma event across both cars. Maybe that 10th time will be the one :)
Ran double groups and tried out lots of different lines across the day. To be honest, this wasnt really the cleanest lap overall.
Spots to improve:
T1: Need to track out right more going up start of hill
T2: Im rounding off my entrance up the hill rather than driving straight and turning at the right hander. Causing me to miss out on early throttle exit.
Carousel: Didn't really maintenance throttle well enough. Min speeds dropped. Need to stay in it.
T7: Over slowed for the corner. Didn't really bog but I had to play catchup on the exit. Been having issues getting a proper braking reference point. I liked the old billboards to gauge and now they are different.
T8: Kept going back and forth here all day with 3/4 gear. Sorta prefer 4th as it feels smoother. Was in 3rd here but hesitated to shift and probably threw me off the setup for ess.
T10: Same issue as T2. I am rounding off the left side, hugging too much. Need go further out leaving T9, leading up to 10. Try keeping my path straighter before going into the right turn.
