[Oops, video says it was Feb 14, but it was actually Feb 15]

We kicked off the new 86 Challenge season this past weekend at Thunderhill East and I was stoked to try out my new Street Class build.

The biggest change to my setup is @RacecompEngineering Tarmac T2 coilovers with 6/7k spring rates. I left the dampers in the RCE-recommended settings for my first day out and loved how everything felt. Shout-out to RCE for helping me refresh some parts on the used set I bought (from 86 Challenge competitor @TrackandBuild ).

I also have a more aggressive alignment (since that is no longer regulated now that I've moved to Street Class) and wider wheels and tires: 245 section width SX2 on 17x9 wheels.

Overall, the car settled much more quickly in transitions and I felt that it was easier to catch and hold slides. I've got a little more rake than I ultimately want to run, so I'll dial that back before the next event.

I ended up P3 for the day but there was more on the table! It took a few sessions to adjust to the new setup.

Thanks to our new title sponsor @RaceTreads for supporting our series for 2025 and beyond!
