Tires: RE-71RS (2nd and 3rd days, starting at ~3-5 HCs)
Conditions: Tires perfect on Saturday, dying a bit on Sunday. Weather was pretty cold and a bit windy, but otherwise excellent.

Setup changes/maintenance:
- new windshield with protection film
- oil change
- fixed TPMS

With close to ideal conditions, I really wanted to get my sub 2. This resulted in a lot of overdriving, frustration, and too many mistakes. This was probably my first event in my 2.5 years of HPDE trying way too hard chasing a lap time. I'm just not at that level where I can really go for it and keep things clean. I have to stick to just going out, having fun, and if the times come, then that's awesome. If not, there's always a next time.

The wider wheels and tires really outdid themselves this weekend. I have so much more braking grip that I was consistently overslowing and/or shifting too much weight up front. I was able to fully commit to aggressive braking zones (specifically T1 and T10), trusting that I can scrub enough speed and still make the corner. Is the car harder to drive? A bit yes because I can't just drive at the limit of front grip anymore. But the car is way more fun now, and inducing entry oversteer is a lot easier. I might give up on these tires for now in favor of a compound that can last a whole session. I'm thinking V730 or RC1 which GRM rated at A for heat tolerance.

Next event will be at Sonoma in a few weeks. I don't plan on getting fresh rubber, and I'm almost out of tread, so I don't expect too much driving.
