Lap time 2:43.3 on the Spec Corvette series standard Nankang NS2R tire, sixth heat cycle.
We had a full course yellow for two cars in the gravel traps. When we went back to green my tires had cooled a bit and we had a two lap sprint to the race finish. My car was working great and I turned my fastest lap of my first weekend at OIR. It was a great race, some close action and several position changes. I ended up as runner up to the 2022 Spec Corvette National Champion. Congrats to Dave Sanders, the yellow #73 from Pennsylvania, on being crowned the 2022 Spec Corvette National Champ. Both Dave and I drove a clean race, hitting all our marks, with him edging me out by less than .7 seconds at the finish line. The rest of the field drove very clean, too. There was no car to car contact despite the close racing and position changes on a track with virtually no straight-aways. The field was full of fast drivers from all over the US, including Alexis Hocevar of the New Orleans region who filled out the third spot on the podium.
