Having gone with some mild changes, and trying to get my head fully focused after a tough phone call with my vet the day prior, I gave it everything to break into the 57's.
On a $100 set of Dunlop Direzza Z3's that had been exclusively stored outside for well over a year, I had a car that was on the knife's edge and hard to keep settled in the corners. This lap was my second fastest of the weekend by about six tenths of a second. Which is misleading because this lap was shorter by 4ft, and with a 2.3mph faster top speed, but with a few mistakes. Most crucially the missed shift cost me 5mph going to S/F.
The blooper moment definitely highlights a few things:
*Keep the wheel completely straight when doing heavy breaking
*Don't get too greedy with braking zones and mind the equipment under you
*If you can't save the car and are going off, go hands off as you hit a transition
*If you have lost control and are going sideways, don't be a hero and go both feet in immediately
