Thunderhill West CW with the boys at OnGrid.
This was my first experience of Thunderhill West Clockwise (CW). SUCH a fun track reverse, it feels like a mountain road. GPS lap timer created a weird s/f and recorded an official 1:21.27. When using the tracks start/finish it was a 1:20.87, definitely had a good last sector, which is why I think the fixed time was significantly better than the rolling time.
Watching the video back, I see a few places where I am losing valuable time. With more practice in this configuration, I'd guess a '19 would be possible. Just goes to show you what an incredible car it is.
Now for the car set up, and some excuses...
Car was mostly OEM, running 1.5-year-old OE Goodyear G3R tires on their last leg. So much so, I corded one set after the first session and corded the second set after the session this lap was from (3rd). Fresh tires would undoubtedly drop some time as well.
The only modification the car had was an APR GTC-300 airfoil with Singular endplates. I have a front splitter, but did not have a chance to install it prior to this event. The wing was zeroed out in the center and had a very minimal angle of attack in the hopes it wouldn't upset the balance too much. I can still see some understeer though in the video. Wing... perhaps, or old tires.
