Eagle F1 GS

The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS EMT is an ultra-high performance summer tire specifically engineered with Extended Mobility Technology (EMT), also known as run-flat capability, to provide temporary self-supporting mobility after complete air pressure loss. This tire combines the exceptional dry and wet performance characteristics of the Eagle F1 series with reinforced sidewall construction that allows the tire to support the vehicle's weight even after a puncture causes total pressure loss. The EMT designation indicates this tire can continue operation for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph after air pressure loss, allowing drivers to reach service facilities without requiring roadside tire changes. The Eagle F1 GS EMT served as original equipment on select BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and other premium performance vehicles equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems.

 

The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS EMT features an asymmetric tread pattern optimized for high-speed stability and cornering grip, with wide circumferential grooves and lateral channels that evacuate water efficiently to maintain wet traction and resist hydroplaning. The tire utilizes advanced compound formulations combining high-grip resins with silica to deliver strong dry traction while enhancing wet weather performance. The reinforced sidewall construction required for run-flat capability typically results in slightly firmer ride quality compared to non-run-flat alternatives, though Goodyear has optimized the design to minimize this trade-off while maintaining the responsive handling characteristics expected from ultra-high performance applications.
