I may have left NT01s forever.
Fun FCA event at historic WGI in the middle of a week+ of rain, as always a mix of impressive hardware. Had about 3 mostly dry sessions on a green track to explore these first-for-me new tires, RE71RS. The RE71RS's offered more lateral grip but incredibly more longitudinal grip relative to the NT01s I'm used to. Also, felt very consistent throughout a longer session, although it was fairly cold (mid 50s) and WGI offers longer straights to cool the tires, relative to LRP. Almost immediately got into consistent 2:08's on a mostly dry track (Previous best was a 2:09.5 on NT01s), ran an event best of 2:08.065. With more time to explore the limits in each corner, a mid 2:07 is the target. Dipping into 2:06s is possible given AIM's theoretical best, especially in a rubbered in track.
Best lap starts at 2:33 of the vid. Good pair of slides at 11:16 at the fast exit of 10 trying to stay ahead of a Ferrari 488 Challenge Car (I think that's what it was, or a 458 or a GT4?).
