This was my fastest lap on my 245 RS4s from last year. You can see why I wasn't super excited about my RT660 lap when my best on these much slower tires was so close. Again, it was my first time ever driving a tire faster than an RS4, so I just need more time to feel them out and really learn where I can push them.
On this run I had my front damper setting at max (24F 22R), as an experiment to see how they felt at their extreme settings. I know this is far from ideal, it just happened to be when I set the fastest lap on these tires. I'm also going to be uploading a 1:17.046 lap on the same tires with a much tamer damper setting of 16F 14R. I believe that lap actually had the best overall pace, but I wasted it by going too deep on the corner at the end of the back straight. Up to that point I was on pace for a 1:16.7 according to my data log. I'm looking forward to comparing it side by side with this and my previous upload.
My best laps from this event all feel sloppy as a result of either experimenting with the new setup or running tires I was unfamiliar with, so I'm a little frustrated viewing them now. Still, they all show massive improvements over last year and offered an encouraging start to my season.
