Driving the 1989 Silk Cut Jaguar XJR11 at Brands Hatch was an absolute blast. Running 850 bhp and weighing in at 900kg the acceleration is fabulous and the engine sound equally so!!
I started on cold sticker tyres and being endurance tyres they took some time to warm up whilst driving with extreme care in such a valuable car. Also there was a load of gravel at Clearways ( you can hear it hitting the bodywork in the video) so I had to be very careful on initial acceleration, still reaching 140mph on that short straight!
These were demonstration laps for the Brands Britannia race meeting and I was under very strict instructions to avoid any shenanigans.
Huge thanks to Geoff Page and the car's owner for this incredible opportunity.
