Botniaring Long

https://botniaring.fi/

Botniaring Long Notes:

The Botniaring is a permanent racing circuit located in Southern Ostrobothnia, Jurva, Finland. The circuit was opened in 1989 and is viewed as one of Scandinavia's newer venues. The track originally featured a short 2.618 km course with a unique oval layout - the only one in Scandinavia at the time, though it was not used very actively. Club and Oval layouts were both introduced when the circuit first opened.

Following a recent extension, Botniaring transformed from a relatively short and twisty circuit into what was Finland's longest and fastest raceway until the advent of KymiRing. The full track now measures 4.014 km and features a high-speed chicane, which is one of a kind in Finland. The circuit hosts motorsport from April to October but remains open throughout autumn and winter for driving training, including on ice and snow. It hosts main Finnish road racing competitions including the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Nordic racing, and a 12-hour night endurance race. Operations have been run by Lintuharju Motorsport Area Ltd since 2014.

Long Notes:

The Long configuration at Botniaring in Finland delivers the extended layout at this Nordic facility located in Karvia, Western Finland. The Long variant utilizes additional track sections beyond the standard circuit to create Finland's comprehensive challenge for events requiring extended distance. This configuration serves regional motorsport enthusiasts with club racing, track days, and manufacturer testing across Finland's limited permanent road course infrastructure.

Operating the Long configuration showcases Botniaring's role serving Finland's motorsport community in the country's western regions. Nordic climate creates limited racing seasons with operations primarily May through September avoiding harsh Finnish winters. The Long layout provides maximum challenge for events seeking extended distance, serving Finland's racing enthusiasts with comprehensive circuit infrastructure in a nation known more for rally heritage than permanent road course facilities.
