HORIBA MIRA - Autocar Dry Test Circuit

HORIBA MIRA Ltd. is an automotive engineering and development consultancy company headquartered near Nuneaton, Warwickshire, United Kingdom, based just off the A5 near the junction with the A444. MIRA was formed in 1946, and on July 14, 2015, it was purchased by the Japanese-owned testing equipment group Horiba. The proving ground is built on 760 acres (310 hectares) of the former RAF Lindley airfield, featuring 60 miles of test track with over 40 major facilities and 100 kilometers of proving ground.

The MIRA High-Speed Circuit is a 2.82-mile (4.53-kilometer) banked circuit where a McLaren F1 broke the circuit record in 1998, averaging 168 mph (270.36 km/h) and reaching a peak speed of 196.2 mph (315.75 km/h). Other facilities include the Dunlop dry handling circuit, the City Circuit for urban environment testing, a mile-long straight for high-speed testing, Cross-Country and Off-Road Circuits for 4×4 and military vehicles, and a Highway facility. The site's extensive facilities make it one of the most comprehensive automotive testing centers in Europe, serving manufacturers and suppliers worldwide for vehicle development and validation.
