I attended the 2016 Vara University with my 1968 pro-touring Camaro this past weekend. The VARA folks put on a great school and I'm no pro driver but I wasn't their target student either. The track was quite crowded during our sessions so in 27 laps over the two days I got exactly one complete lap with no traffic and as you can see in the video it was kind of ugly. Hard to practice and get into a rhythm on track when some of the other cars are so much slower. Video taken from the blue run group. To be clear this was a school, not a race.
This was my first chance to test out my new external mic to record my lap sessions. The sound is amazing compared to the old built in mic of either my Iphone or Gopro camera.
Special thanks to:
TCI Engineering (aka Total Cost Involved) for the great suspension parts.
Falken Tires for the great street tire that can also perform well on a track.
Wilwood Disc Brakes for great brakes. This also allowed me to test out their BP-40 compound.
Ridetech shocks
Currie Enterprises.
For anyone wondering the exhaust is Hedman Hedders and Magnaflow mufflers with 3" pipes out to the tail all supporting a stroked LS3 427" engine..
