What an eventful day this was. My GR Corolla was finally back at Laguna Seca after exactly 1 year, and I was excited to test out the new parts that’s been added to the car since then. I was really hoping to beat my previous PB of 1:43 and get into 1:42s. My excitement quickly disappeared just after 4 corners upon entering the track in the first session because my charge pipe popped off…again! 😭 I will take the L this time as one of the new constant tension hose clamps that I installed prior to this event was installed at a slight angle.😅

After missing the entire first session, I took it easy for the first few laps in the second session. On my first hot lap (this video) I could feel my brake pedal starting to get very squishy before T5, which caught me off guard and made me missing the apex completely. I did a cooldown lap after this and pulled into the paddock and did more cooldown driving for about 5 minutes but my brake pedal still went down to the floor and I had to pump it 3 times to get any sort of feedback. As I was expecting, my brake fluid boiled because somebody (me!) thought it would last few more track days. Another L for me. 😭

I somehow managed to beat my previous PB in GRC by 0.1 seconds on this very sloppy lap so I'm hopeful that I can do better next time I go back to Laguna Seca in May.
