Back at Chuckwalla after the New Year break for another perfect track day!

This time, I didn’t make any hardware modifications to the car yet, but I was ready to experiment with sway bar adjustments if the balance felt off. Ultimately, I found no need to make changes, as I had built a lot more confidence with both the car and the counter-clockwise track layout since my last session in December.

The biggest difference this time was my consistency in braking points and trail braking, which allowed for better rotation into corners, carrying more speed, and getting back on the throttle earlier. Running about 1 PSI lower tire pressure at the front also provided a bit more grip, helping with front-end response.

As a result, I was able to consistently run sub-2-minute laps throughout the day—even with a passenger—and sub-1:59 when driving solo. Ultimately, I set a new personal best of 1:58.259, which exceeded my expectations!

Looking at the video and data, I can still see areas for improvement in several sections of the track. Lack of camber in the alignment is becoming a limiting factor, as it’s really starting to wear out the front tires unevenly. After just two track days, the outer shoulders are nearly gone while the rest of the tread remains in good condition. This confirms that upgrading the suspension hardware for a more aggressive alignment is going to be necessary sooner than expected.

🔥 What do you think? Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions on setup improvements or driving techniques to shave off even more time!”
