4th round of 2024 86Challenge. Finally got my coilovers installed. The car was a bit sketchy to driving in the first session when damper setting was at F/R 10/10. I changed it to 8/8 in the session 2 and the rear wheels started hopping at the off ramp turn, where the track surface is rough. In the following 3 sessions, I changed the rear damper setting back to 10 and changed the front to 9, 8 and 7. But none of the setting fully satisfy me. I managed to do a 2:05.4 lap in the first session (damper 10/10) when the weather was cold and 2:05.3 lap in the third session (damper 9/10). The 8/10 setting in the 4th session gave me the best feeling of the day but I was in traffic in 2 push laps and didn't put down a good time.
My driving at buttonwillow was also terrible. My off ramp turn entry and exit wasn't smooth and lose a lot of time there. The cotton hill turns were not consistent and the line at sweeper was wrong. Time to start practicing this track on the sim.
