The ZL1 Camaro is a race- bred muscle car specifically made to perform at the race track. The Hellcat is made with straight line racing being the primary reason for its existence. Both use an automatic transmission, electronically adjustable suspension, and modern traction control and of course, 2 amazing power plants up front, these are both made with only one thing in mind…performance & going fast- But where the Hellcat falls short is when turns are introduced. 

THIS is the Camaro ZL1, our 10th giveaway car here at Freedom Street Garage. These are built to be track weapons out of the box with 325 wide rear tires, 6-piston front & 4-piston rear Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control Suspension allowing you to put the car in track mode with the press of a button, making the Camaro ZL1 an extremely capable track machine. The biggest difference between a ZL1 and other 6th generation Camaros is the potent LT4 engine…a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 making 650hp & torque.

ITS OPPONENT… With plenty of power to get you in trouble quickly, the potent, supercharged 6.2L HEMI is standard in SRT Hellcat models with 717 horsepower and 656 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to make the competition sweat…Like the ZL1, the Hellcat boasts 6-piston front, 4-piston rear Brembo brakes to bring this machine to a halt at your command. The hellcat’s sole purpose is to be quick in a straight line.

WHO TAKES THE WIN? It would take a bit of work to get the Hellcat to do exactly what the ZL1 can as far as handling a road course, and even with the ZL1 being down just 67hp, it is CERTAINLY no joke when you put your foot on the gas pedal, & Despite the Camaros muscle car heritage and association with going in a straight line, the ZL1 is forsure a dominant force when it comes to corners, leaving the Hellcat nowhere to be found.
