Our first trip out west with the Plaid starts off with a win! First time at Willow Springs, but we were able to put down a pretty good lap time by the end of the weekend. This was our fastest completed lap, but we had the potential for an even faster one that got spoiled by a certain other Plaid spinning in the last corner... This Grid Life event was more 'low key' - they call it a 'club weekend' and the vibe is much more chill. That said it was great to see some Pike's Peak competitors out laying down seriously fast times on slicks.

In addition to a new Track Mod AWD record - we have not found another time at Streets CCW on street tires faster. This was the first time we have run tire warmers on the car, and we learned all through the weekend on how to optimize them and the car. Still running the Supercar 3R's on all 4 corners for this and the upcoming Laguna weekend - they seemed to like the oven treatment!

Thanks to Mountain Pass Performance for the best Tesla performance parts and consulting available, Martian Wheels for awesome forged wheels, and Goodyear for a fantastic tire. Also big thanks to Chris Hatch for being an all-around great help to the team!

A couple notes from this session:

#1 The data displayed is from the Motec - and we had a replacement GPS unit that was working so we were able to get lap timing, GPS speeds, etc.
#2 The car was working fairly well but it seemed to have had some recurrence of the issues from Mid-O with power lower than expected on the longer straights.
#3 This was a good lap and our fastest completed lap of the weekend, but you can see a number of places where it wasn't great - "there's time everywhere!" This is almost always the case on a first visit to a new track for car and driver. Would love to go back sometime and try to get that last .5-1 sec.
