Round 6 of 2023 86DriveChallenge with Thunderhill 5Miles in an unusual Cylone in east loop and bypass in west loop layout. And because this layout is so rarely used, Garmin Catalyst doesn't have this map and it refuse to work😂.
I managed to put down a few 3:33 laps in the first 3 sessions and then the ambient temperature reached 110F and it is torturing to drive with windows open. And I discovered my front left and rear right tires were badly chunked So I decided to call it a day. I have couple of chances to do a higher 3:31 laps but it didn't happen either due to a T14E spin or a red flag due to a went off road. Anyway it is a good learning experience.
I also made a few changes to my car before this event. Knowing the event was going to be in 100F weather. I changed the oil to 5W40 and it appears to boost the working oil pressure by 5psi under 230F oil temperature. I also changed the brake pads to Endless ccRg, a track/street hybrid pad. It worked OK and didn't fade at this track, but it took me the first session to get used to its biting characteristics.
