Back in action with NASA SE, and for the first time ever, at Road Atlanta. This has always been a bucket list track to me. With 2022 being such a fantastic and ground breaking year, there was no better way to end the season.
While doing my usual prep and studying to learn a track by heart, I did a 1:54 in the sim a few days prior in an identically spec’d car as the one I have. I dug deep to come close to that time.
I went out and immediately cooked my entry into T5 resulting in a black flag visit. Released into some faster cars, I took a few laps to let the traffic through, warm the tires fully, and began my first pushing laps. This was my best lap as the next was shaping to be a 1:53 before I had to negotiate traffic into T6 and compromised my line and run to T7.
Overall, I had an amazing first time at Road Atlanta. Getting laps in the dry and in the wet, I was absolutely loving the conditions both days. I personally love running in the rain and the extra challenge it brings. Being able to experience both dry and wet sessions in one weekend was an early Christmas gift. This was the last event for my third hand RS4's, and I cannot wait to see what time we can get on fresh rubber next time out!!
