This amateur racing driver has 20 recorded laps across 4 vehicles on LapMeta, averaging 5 laps per car—high concentration ratio indicating focused commitment to mastering 4 specific platforms. Over five laps per vehicle builds knowledge transcending typical driver-vehicle relationships, revealing nuances requiring extended exposure to discover.
The selective 4-vehicle portfolio suggests curated testing balancing comparative education against deep platform understanding. Each car received over five sessions revealing performance characteristics through sufficient exposure beyond initial familiarization. Track day participants achieving this concentration demonstrate commitment transcending casual participation, treating circuit time as deliberate education rather than recreational entertainment. With 20 laps concentrated across 4 vehicles averaging 5 laps each, this driver demonstrates focused approach combining meaningful platform development with manageable portfolio diversity supporting comprehensive vehicle dynamics understanding.
Road America #2 Woo Hoo!
This MVP event day was my second track day at RA and my first time on ‘the Kink’. Much has been said about the danger of the Kink so I was pretty conservative going through there all day.
One of my Camaro ZL1 1LE driving friends signed up late for this event so we all downshifted into the intermediate group. Turned out to be a good idea as the advanced MVP group was packed and was running sub-2:30’s. I’d rather be getting point by’s than giving them (and not focusing attention on my mirrors).
Weather: 70 degrees, low humidity and sunny to begin with. A rain front was inbound, and the clouds led the way in after session 1. Rain held off until after the 4th session but washed-out day 2.
Track: Track was well prepped and faster in the am than after lunch. Traffic was persistent for all four sessions.. I had maybe 4 – 5 clean laps all day. We staged early in the last two sessions of the day and that helped until we ran into late-starters. Best lap of the day was the last lap of session 2.. I was coming up the hill on the last lap of the session and another driver thought to (over) slow before turn 1. Cost me .24 seconds.. :/
Car & Equipment: I ran new Hoosier R7’s for this event on 18x10/18x12 Finspeeds. 275F/315R. Definitely have more grip than my previous RA visit on PS4S Runflats 😊The C8 continues to be very predictable and confidence inspiring. As in the first 6 track days with this car, I ran in Track/Sport 1 which leaves stability control active. ‘Wolfpaq 3.0’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (front), Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R12 track pads front/rear and SRF fluid. I used-up the front pads today in four sessions.. I might be trying G-Loc R16’s soon to increase wear.. That said, the R12’s are very rotor friendly and offer great feel.
Adios RA for now.. Hope to see you again at least a couple of times in 2023.
