G´day,
A cut-out from one of the test-sessions driven on my home track, Ring Knutstorp, in southern Sweden.
This is my favourite track in Sweden and it is called "Mini Nurburgring Nordschleife" due to the elevations and cambers.
Even though I have driven on this track a lot, like a lot-lot, with many different cars, this was actually the first time I drove this specific car on this track apart from a few demo-laps back in 2012 when it was stock.
I was trying different lines and corner approaches, different gears etc.
In general, I was very surprised by the pace and laptimes considering the car was 100% setup for the Nordschleife in regards of geo, damping, gearing etc. With a better gearing and more rotation in the car/less understeer, a sub 1:06 is definately within reach.
Laptimes in this video
Lap 1 01:06.83
Lap 2 01:06.33
Lap 3 01:06.58
Lap 4 01:06.28
Lap 5 01:06.83
Lap 6 01:06.24
Lap 7 01:06.94
Lap 8 01:06.36
The car, a Mazda MX-5 NC 2,0 160bhp Sport Roadster Coupé 2007.
