The Aldo Scribante Race Circuit is a 2.480 km paved circuit with eight curves located in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth (now officially Gqebha) on South Africa's Eastern Cape. It took the Algoa Motor Sports Club some 14 years to raise the necessary funds to build their track, with GM and Ford providing backing for a circuit on the doorstep of their South African operations. The circuit opened on November 30, 1975.
The raceway is named after Italian-born motorsports philanthropist and construction magnate Aldo Scribante, who helped fund the project when Club President Louis Krittinger approached him for financial backing. The track is tight and narrow, demanding inch-perfect driving from competitors. The circuit was resurfaced in its entirety in 2018, once again with assistance from the Scribante family. Port Elizabeth's location makes it strategically important, with Ford, Isuzu, Continental Tyres, Bridgestone/Firestone, Dunlop, and SAIC all having factories in the area.
