The Clark International Speedway is a 2.6-mile (4.18-km) road course in Mabalacat, at the foothills of Mount Pinatubo, an hour and a half road trip north of Manila, in The Philipines. The speedway trajectory has a total of 18 turns, offering a challenging combination of angles, inclinations, and elevation changes that create an exciting driving experience. The tropical climate on the island of Luzon tends to be warm year-round, with heavy rainfall from June to November. The racetrack opened in 2009 and holds an FIA Grade 4 license allowing high-profile local racing events to use the circuit. The Formula 4 South East Asia Championship is the most prestigious event held at the Philippine venue.
The Clark International Speedway starts/finishes at its long straight, where racers get to 230 km/h (142 mph) before downshifting heavily on the right-hander combo of turns one, two, and three. Corner four is a super tight left-hander that takes drivers into an acceleration segment across the sweeping turn five. The hairpin number six leads into another sweeper and from there to a braking spot at eight. The wide sweeping corner nine is the last acceleration segment before the highly technical stretch that starts in corner 10, consisting of seven snaking corners keeping racers glued to their steering wheel in a 100% concentration mode. The last corner before the front straight is the sweeping 18, where racers go full throttle to advance as many positions as possible in the final stretch.
