Astra TCR
The Opel Astra TCR features turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 330 horsepower with 420 Nm torque through six-speed sequential racing transmission with paddle shift and automated double declutching to front-wheel-drive configuration at 1,200 kg weight per TCR regulations. Six-piston front calipers with 378mm discs, adjustable front splitter and rear wing, and twin-disc sinter metal clutch provide competition-specification components for Touring Car Racing Series participation.
Developed in cooperation with Kissling Motorsport for 2016 TCR International Series, the Astra TCR competes under Balance of Performance regulations ensuring competitive parity across manufacturer entries. The combination of turbocharged power delivery, sequential transmission, and lightweight construction creates accessible touring car racing platform with lower operating costs compared to traditional touring car championships, establishing Opel motorsport credentials in cost-effective TCR category before brand transition to Vauxhall badging in UK markets.
