My 2 cents on the 718 GT4 in its stock form:

Handling: without adjusting the sway bars, the car tends to understeer at corner entries and apexes. Although this can be mitigated by overslowing the corner entires and late apexing, it’s not ideal, and makes the car feel heavier than it is. Softening the front bar and stiffening the rear bar should be a better solution, but will result in more front body roll and a twitchier rear end.

Powertrain: underwhelming when compared to the GT3’s, but definitely a step up from the previous gen’s, plus full throttling past the sound booth isn’t a problem even on a 90dB day at Laguna with the additional particle filters. Transmission stayed solid and consistent throughout the day, with the auto-blip making it more enjoyable and friendly to drive at the limit. Cooling is not a problem.

Breaks: extremely disappointed by the breaks from factory, only last ~three push laps at Laguna before fading. The compound is too soft and too gentle on the rotors, caused by Porsche removing Copper from their compound due to environmental concerns.

Tires: Cup2’s were great first two sessions until I over lowered their pressure not realizing that air temp was dropping too quickly. I was hardly able to get them up to temp (34psi) even by the end of the later sessions (could only get them to 32psi by session ending).

Overall I think the GT4 is a very capable car with tons of potentials. I will address the issues mentioned above and give it another go in a few weeks before doing any mods to the car, for proper reference.

For this lap, I lost ~.5 second overshooting turn 2, and ~ .1 second every corner compared to Randy’s Motortrend lap, for many other reasons (track condition, swaybar settings, driver skills, etc.)

Car is completely stock with 4 degree AOA on the rear wing and swaybars untouched.
