The MSV How Fast event is probably the easiest way into competitive driving in the UK.
No licence or safety gear/scrutineering, just turn up like a regular track day but get timed then have your time posted on a leaderboard.
You get an hour practice then 2 timed laps, very high pressure stuff!
The M4 now has sports cats fitted and another map so is a bit quicker than before and most importantly didn't have any noise issues 👌
It felt great on track! Stopped, cornered and braked really well. Sadly, that's the end of my A052 tyres but despite looking very worn still performed well.
I was a bit disappointed with the lap time as Steve Sutcliffe from EVO lapped a completely stock G80 RWD in 1:19 and G80 4WD in 1:18 on Cup 2 😬
I'd thought my modified F82 might do similar times, and I think it should, but not with me driving 😂
With some practice and fresh tyres it's probably possible but they only run this event once a year and it usually clashes with work.
After finishing How Fast we headed over to the Sen circuit to do some laps there, which was brilliant!! Video of 2 x F82's coming soon and I have the footage from both cars 😎
