The last BIT (bracket) race started with a wet track but turned to a steady rain. Everyone did a great job of racing and yet keeping it under control. Lots of wiggles and sliding, but I don’t think anyone went off.
With 2 laps to go, I’m on last year’s RE71s with half tread and unknown number of TT sessions. They’re the best thing I have for in the rain. I’m chasing the M3 (Chris) and Jennifer’s Touring 4 FRS. She’s on Hoosier wets and bolted ahead early and stayed consistently quick the whole race. Chris graciously lets me by so I can try to close on Jen. We both cleared some traffic but conditions were getting worse. I struggled to put power down while watching her accelerate away. Ughh. On the last lap I had a slide in T7 and figured that was it. But wait, there’s a Miata ahead! Jen awkwardly catches the Miata in T10 giving me the opportunity (luck) to maintain corner speed and pass them heading for the checker. Goes to show, you just never know what may happen until the end.
