Headed out to SMSP South Circuit on Monday night for the first round of DSC. My first event of 2025 so used it as a shakedown of sorts just to make sure the S2000 felt good and nothing had popped up since my last event in November 2024 before starting the super sprint season in a couple weeks.
Everything went well overall. No problems to report back. The only minor issue was the car was quite oversteery all night. Could be older tyres or lack of alignment and the toe is a bit out in the rear. That's all getting sorted this week.
Was lapping consistent mid to low 1:02s all night and in the last session I got a bit of free air and dropped half a second off and ended with a 1:01.72. Relatively happy with that as I don't get to do south circuit much and this was the first time in the S2000. I had a goal of a 1:01 coming into the night. Maybe next time if the car is set up better and I can clean up the driving a bit a low 1:01 or even a high 1:00 could be on the cards. For now I'll do a check over on the car, get an alignment and I'll be ready for competition.
