With this being the 3rd track day in 2.5 weeks, and the second event for my daily driven Civic in 4 days, I was keen to beat my personal best set in my E-Street Miata last time I was at CMP. This lap I was extremely subconscious, and over thinking my hand placement and braking zones as on my previous lap, I had overcooked the brakes and went four off.
A bit nervous, brakes being cooked in the back of my head, trying to keep pace with the Mustang, and the time set with the Miata having been safe all day, I dug a bit deep and gave myself 2 laps to push after having done my cooldown in-lap to black flag due to my four off.
Only pushing 8/10s and dialing a bit back on attacking corners and curbing, and trying to be relatively easy on the car, I was amazed at how well my daily handled and took the aggressive driving on the wonderful track that CMP is.
