Here's what happened:
Once the pace car enters the track we line up to race start formation. Green flag drops, second gear, full throttle, and the race has begun. I had a huge brown pants moment right at Turn 1 but was able to, fortunately, catch and correct it in time. It may not look like it, but the #762 Mini was inches away from me on the right! Took a deep breath, then focused on the line through the Carousel, and was able to catch up and overtake the leader by the time we were exiting the corner.
