March 15, 2022:

Back at it again, this time with Track Night in America. I always love running the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval a little more than other tracks because it’s where I did my first ever track day. For the first time though, they incorporated and used the chicanes. Which really made the course that much more of a challenge and a lot of fun. As always, running under the lights in the night was an absolute blast!!

Although my fastest lap was this out lap, as it was the only lap without traffic, once the tires and brakes were up to temp after the back straight chicane, the car felt fast and capable. I began to push to get a good run to start a quick lap though I quickly came up on a Cutlass and had to abort the run up to start/finish. Once I had decided to go down pit road for a gap after a few laps in traffic, the session had ended.

Still a great time out, practiced and really nailed a good line at CMS, I know we can shave a lot of time next time we’re out, and I kept pace with a V8 around a NASCAR circuit so a lot of silver linings from the event. Overall I loved being out there as always and I’m really looking forward to going back as soon as there’s another event.

Big thanks to Tradd’s Photos for the thumbnail picture from the previous event I did at CMS! Another big thanks to the wonderful people at TNiA that put on these fun events and let me do their Run/Work program to have really affordable track time!
