1999 BMW E36 M3 with S54 (328 whp SAE5) at 2515 lbs with fuel and driver. No aero, narrow body and 245/40/17 Hoosier A7 (1st event).. Forgot to upload this from a few weeks ago. Slightly devastated that I added over 80 whp to the car and ended up being 0.2 seconds slower than I was last October with the S52. The car is more than capable of running a 1:43 with the right pilot so it’s quite obvious I have a lot of work to do as a driver to take advantage of the new engine as it just seems like its overpowering the chassis in its current state and I am not comfortable putting the car on it’s limit like I was before the swap. Still trying to get the new suspension dialed in as well. Was unable to get any reference laps on Saturday because the practice tires I brought out were so far off pace. So, had to wing it on Sunday morning with the freshies. Car immediately felt more managable but still hesitant to give it the juice and figured I would build up for my best effort in session 2. Did the best I could with 1 hawt lap attempt but my inputs were graceless and the lap as a whole was very uncalculated. There are tons of mistakes in this lap and it’s difficult for me to watch but hopefully this gives me the motivation to work harder and reconnect with the platform. Time to get back to work!
