Wednesday 6/7/2023 SCCA Track Night in America (TNIA) 3rd (final) advanced session. I did the first few corners one to two tenths faster on some other laps but this was my best lap overall. My second best lap was 1:18.50 later in this session.
It think I could have gotten into the 1:17s with another session by braking a bit later before turn 1, carrying a bit more speed through turn 1, and braking a bit later before turn 7. The bumpy braking zones at this track are tricky. I probably would have sailed off into the grass at the end of the straightaway(s) due to Ice Mode at least once if I didn't have the newer 2019+ ABS module with improved calibration.
The exit curbs are more like ramps in some places and they're unpainted so you need to place the car very accurately to prevent upsetting the car's balance on corner exits! Because of this, I would recommend using PTM at this track to help you out if you get onto those curbs on some laps.
My first day driving at Blackhawk Farms.
Sorry the PDR map and lap timer overlay stopped working after the first session. I think I might have accidentally removed the SD card from my laptop before it went to sleep between sessions which might have caused the issue. Normally I would delete the .map.gpx file and replace it with a backup copy to fix this issue but I didn't create a backup before the issue happened and forgot to reset the start/finish during the final session.
I created the track in Cosworth Toolbox from one of the .mp4 files to get the lap times. Harry's Lap Timer with 10Hz external GPS (and presumably the correct start/finish line) has this lap at 1:18.05 but it has my 2nd best lap only 1/100th of a second off of Cosworth Toolbox at 1:18.49. I set the PDR start/finish line later than the actual one in the first session and used it for this video.
2017 Camaro SS 1LE. Unmodified engine using PTM Sport 2, stock Goodyear Supercar 3 (220 treadwear) tires, track alignment (camber: -2.2° front, -1.8° rear, toe: +0.05° front on each side, some toe in for the rears), SPL Rear Toe Links with Eccentric Lockout, BMR BK063 Rear Diff Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit, FEA front lower front control arms from ZL1 1LE (since stock fluid filled bushings leaked), 2021 SS 1LE ABS control module (EBCM) to get better ice mode calibration (found on 2019+ SS 1LEs) which prevents intermittent hard brake pedal and reduced stopping force in bumpy braking zones, Castrol SRF DOT 4 brake fluid, stock Brembo (Ferodo HP1000/1) brake pads, GM plastic track brake cooling deflectors, smaller GM metal brake dust / splash shields, Ikon Motorsports 2019+ stock style 3 piece front splitter. The car is in track mode with touring steering mode and track exhaust mode.
