*Sorry about the bug-splat!

My first visit to Mid-Ohio and my first day (2 of 3) on the Chicane Configuration. Really a fun track! Nice elevation changes, blind corners, off-camber turns, familiar carousel (to BIR).... Reminds me of NCM with a little more hair. Nice facility and very good team!

*Disclaimer - I ran a few dozen laps on iRacing to get the lay of the land. I was glad I did.. Our first of three days was wet for most of the morning and I was the first driver out (ie, nobody to follow around) at the first session. SIM to the rescue.

I attended with MVP Track Time. Great group of drivers and very well run without being uptight. This video was day 2 (first day on no-chicane course), session 4, lap 11.

Conditions: Rained overnight before day 1, wet track until after lunch on day 1. Foggy and dewy both morning of day 2, but the track was relatively sticky and the rest of the day was glorious. Ditto for day 3 with a bit less bite in the track surface. High temps in the low 80's.

Equipment of the day: On day 1 I took the conservative approach and ran PS4S'. Day 2 and 3 were on Hoosier R7's & 275/315 on 18" Finspeeds and G-Loc R16.

Driving: MVP drivers are always pretty quick and well mannered. This event was no exception. As it was my first time at Mid-Ohio, I registered for the intermediate group. I'll probably transition to advanced at new to me tracks from now on.. I'll learn more being mid-pack with faster drivers.

Car note: I'm STILL not getting full power early in the sessions on Hoosiers. TPMS provides tire temp to the PTM (performance traction management) and the display shows temps as 'warm'. That said, the car won't give me much/any power with the steering wheel in any position other than straight when I first go out.. I know the TPMS provides temp data to the PTM, and I realize the tires aren't 'hot' when we go out after an hour in the paddock, but they're still 'warm' and the cars sees that. At Mid-Ohio, it took over 3 laps before the tires were hot enough for the PTM to provide 'full power' in turns. (*I run in track/sport so the stability control is active. I considered going to track/race to disable stability control, but there's no upside to pushing my luck.). It might be doing exactly as intended, but I'd sure like some more power early in the session. Track day problems! Lol.

Running mod list: ‘WolfpaqC8’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (now removed) Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R16 track pads front/rear and SRF flush. New Hoosier R7's and new brake pads for this event.
