My first ever visit to Ozarks International Raceway (OIR). In a word - WOW! Unbelievable track! Huge elevation changes, blind corners, off-camber turns, nasty little S's.... Makes other tracks I've been to quite tame by comparison. Great facility: clean, well organized, and a top-shelf staff!

Personal note: I was very nervous as a first time OIR attendee, but Shawn (white/green ZL1 1LE) and I fell in behind a couple of guys who'd been there before and got the basic layout down pretty quickly. That said, this track would/will take a long time to master. Can't wait to go back. My highest recommendation - GO ASAP!

I attended with MVP Track Time. Great group of drivers and very well run without being uptight. This video was lap 5, session 3, day 2.

Conditions: Absurdly hot. Morning temps close to 80 with a real feel of 90. At ~11am when we ran this session, it was 90 with a real feel close to 100. Light wind (aka the hairdryer).

Equipment of the day: 8 session old Hoosier R7. 275/315 on 18" Finspeeds and G-Loc R16. This was my 2nd event on the R16 and I love them. Nearly as good of feel and modulation as the R12 but seem to wear about 50% less. The real test for the R16's will be at Road America in August.

Driving: MVP drivers are always pretty quick and well mannered. This event was no exception. As it was my first time at OIR, I/we registered for the intermediate group (good move).

Car note: I'm not getting full power early in the sessions on Hoosiers. TPMS provides tire temp to the PTM (performance traction management) and the display shows temps as 'warm'. That said, the car won't give me much/any power with the steering wheel in any position other than straight when I first go out.. I know the TPMS provides temp data to the PTM, and I realize the tires aren't 'hot' when we go out after an hour in the paddock, but they're still 'warm' and the cars sees that. At OIR, it took over 2 laps before the tires were hot enough for the PTM to provide 'full power' in turns. (*I run in track/sport so the stability control is active. I considered going to track/race to disable stability control, but there's no upside to pushing my luck, especially at OIR). It might be doing exactly as intended, but I'd sure like some more power early in the session. Track day problems! Lol.

Running mod list: ‘WolfpaqC8’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (now removed) Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R16 track pads front/rear and SRF flush. New Hoosier R7's and new brake pads for this event.

I'll post up a full session later.
