Helmet Cam (GoPro) footage of my personal best lap (1.31.89) on my first track day at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Oklahoma in my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N (6MT). This was the third session of the day, and the conditions were beautiful (2:30pm, 68 degrees).

Since it was my time ever at the track, and my first time ever tracking the Veloster N, I didn't make much of an effort to dial in the tire pressures. As a result, they were running much higher than they should have been (40psi front, 37psi rear), which was costing me quite a bit of grip. If I were to bring those numbers down and dial them in properly, I suspect I would gain another 0.5-1.0s. And if I were to replace the OEM Pirelli P Zeros with some decent rubber, I wouldn't be surprised if I could bring this down below 1:30.

All in all, the car performed wonderfully, especially considering it everything was 100% stock. Hyundai knocked it out of the park with this vehicle. I also can't say enough positive things about the value of practicing this track in my simulator (Assetto Corsa in VR - see some of my other videos); I was able to hop out onto a track I'd never seen in person, in a car that I had never driven on a track, and be on-pace, pushing hard within 2-3 laps. ABSOLUTELY INVALUABLE.

Big thanks to Eric at EKO Sim-Racing (https://eko-sim-racing-88.webself.net/) for his outstanding work creating the digital version of this track! And massive praise to Hyundai for making such a fantastic car that is so fun to drive!
