First Waterford day of 2025 and straight into the 19s!
The first lap here is my new PB, but the second lap shown was actually on track to be significantly quicker until I blew it in swamp. I just got a little greedy with my throttle commitment point, if I'd just been patient like I was on the earlier lap I may have hit my first 18. These laps are both from the same session, and were driven on an old set of RT660s from last fall (which were starting to cord by the end of the day...)
A decent chunk of this time is definitely due to setup refinements. More weight was pulled out of the car in order to shave down our power to weight "cushion," which was honestly too large last year. The car should be a lot closer to a proper 25:1 this year. Also replaced 7.5" wide wheels with 8" wide wheels (the legal limit in class) which had a much greater effect on the overall balance of the car than I expected!
Setup changes aside though, I feel as though my driving has developed a bit as well. Some changes to technique, analysis and overall approacall have me feeling about the best I ever have regarding my driving ability. It also helps that I've managed to keep myself on track quite a bit already this year. Feeling good overall!
