I moved the start line to the end of the back straight in Cosworth Toolbox due to mistakes on the previous lap and later in this lap. My best lap at the normal start line was 2:31.15 but it included several mistakes:
I'm using the faster line through the esses since the yellow curbs were not there (you can see outlines in the red painted areas where they would go) and the organizer allowed it as long as you did not put all 4 wheels beyond the white line. ***Don't try this line if the yellow curbs are in place in the esses or you will damage your car from what I've heard.
Austin Schnell Fest (held by PCA & BMW-CCA) on Sunday 11/20/2022. First Advanced 2 run group session at 9:05am, gas tank was at about 1/2, 43°F, cloudy, ideal conditions for fast laps, 10mph wind from NNE. This was about halfway through the session just after I let a few pounds of air pressure out of the tires in the hot pit to bring them down to about 34psi hot. I started with higher cold pressures to try for a fast lap early in the session but I didn't manage to do one before the pressures got higher than I wanted.
This was my 4th day at COTA (3rd day in the Camaro) and Friday was my first time back at COTA in 3 years. Unfortunately, there was significant rain during all of the sessions for my run group on Saturday but at least it stayed dry during the day on Friday and Sunday.
Unmodified engine with traction/stability control fully disabled, stock Goodyear Supercar 3 tires on stock wheels, track alignment with strut mod for some extra front camber (camber: -2.8° front, -1.6° rear, toe: 0° front, -0.05° rear per side [-0.10° total rear toe]), BMR BK063 Rear Diff Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit, FEA front lower front control arms from ZL1 1LE (since stock fluid filled bushings leaked), 2021 SS 1LE ABS control module (EBCM) to get better ice mode calibration (found on 2019+ SS 1LEs) which prevents intermittent hard brake pedal and reduced stopping force in bumpy braking zones (probably didn't make a difference at COTA), Castrol SRF DOT 4 brake fluid, stock Brembo (Ferodo HP1000/1) brake pads, GM plastic track brake cooling deflectors, smaller GM metal brake dust / splash shields. The car is in track mode with touring steering mode and track exhaust mode. Ambient temperature was 43°F with 56% humidity...optimal conditions for fast laps.
